The staff are very helpful, and the lobby is comfortable. It is good to have an around the clock hot drinks self-service bar. The room was clean, and the shower is nice and strong. Yet, some rooms on the lower floors are dark: they look into the interior of the building, where light is limited. Standard rooms are also small, and strangely designed: no side tables by the bed, instead a shelf slightly above the floor level that cannot be used while one lies in bed: you would have to drop down your glasses, phone, or book.

My husband and I stayed at the Periscope Hotel in Athens, Greece to celebrate our 40th anniversary and what a delight it was! Everyone from front desk to housekeeping to managment was extraordinarily wonderful - friendly, helpful, anxious to tell us about the city, make recommendations, reservations, or lend us a tablet to solve our cell phone problem the minute we checked in. Over the course of our stay in Greece, we stayed in 3 rooms and each was perfect. Of course, the penthouse with it's private rooftop hot tub was the most perfect! We had booked a standard room using Marriott Bonvoy points and were immediately upgraded to a superior room. The room is sleek and modern, comfortable bed,and is cleaned daily. The penthouse was a real treat! Huge room with a sitting area, great view, the works. The location is very convient with loads of shops and restaurants, the National Botanical Garden, the Plaka, and more just minutes away. It is a very walkable area. There is snack food, coffee and other drinks available in the lobby all the time. We loved the Periscope and their staff so much that we will definely be returning on our next trip to Athens! Give it a try; you won't be sorry!

The staff was exceptional !! It made our time in Athens a joy !! If you are a 1st timer in Athens or an experienced visitor- I highly recommend the Periscope hotel. Remember it is a boutique hotel- so the location is perfect- the hotel has a limited number of rooms and the staff are truly welcoming and knowledgeable. The staff made this an outstanding experience.

My second visit to Periscope Hotel and both times have been exemplary. The lady at reception is without a doubt the friendliest person I have ever encountered in a hotel in all my years The place is clean, the rooms are spacious, the air con is quiet and works very well. Sleep is not a problem as someone who struggles with noise it is one of the quieter areas in Athens and I’ve sleep well on both trips. There are snacks and drinks available in reception for free throughout the day. Can’t comment on the breakfast as it was on the pricier side. This is my go to when in Athens

This hotel pays attention to details that I’ve rarely seen in other hotels. They don’t skimp on low quality to boost profits - for example, quality of toilet paper, quality of free snacks at reception, toiletries that have special bottles to make it easier to squeeze etc.. Located in one of the most upmarket areas of Athens and you can clearly tell that. Very nice surroundings. We also walked to all of the main tourist sites from here so didn’t need any public transport. Very pleasant walk to the old Olympic stadium and Acropolis area - but definitely need your walking shoes. The hotel is very modern so at first glance the rooms may appear a little less than we expected for the price range but the attention to detail, investment in quality, location, and friendly staff (Nick at reception was brilliant) mean that we would definitely stay here again.

Periscope is a lovely small hotel in the Kolonaki neighborhood. Kolonaki is quiet and upscale, in the literal shadow of Lycabettus Hill, near the Presidential Palace and the National Garden. We stayed there for a week in mid-May 2025. Although we found them through Marriott’s Bonvoy network, Periscope is a European hotel. What I mean by that is, the hotel is no larger than any other building on its block, the Standard and Superior rooms are small (cramped, even), and the “lounge” downstairs can also seem small and dark; there’s no workout room, no business amenities, no swimming pool. The hot tub in the website photos is part of the penthouse suite, so it is only available to certain guests. We did stay in a suite, so we had more room and a private balcony. We found the lounge, which is Periscope’s claim to local fame, to be “atmospheric,” with a film projected onto the ceiling, cushy blue velvet sofas, and a pro-grade Nespresso machine available 24/7. It was a great place to eat breakfast, which Periscope serves buffet-style each morning. [And make sure you opt for breakfast; it is included with the larger rooms but is an add-on for the smaller rooms.] The lounge is also quiet enough to work if you are staying in one of the smaller rooms with no desk. Our opinion: We loved it and would stay there again. It's in a walkable neighborhood of shops and restaurants, and my husband walked up Lycabettus Hill every. morning. so he did not miss the gym at all. The desk crew were delighted to have “long stayers” and treated us like celebrities. They were unfailingly helpful. If you want the experience of staying in Athens, try the Periscope.

Nice location, friendly staff but would be nice if we knew the hotel didn’t have a rooftop patio / hot tub . Large patio and comfortable bed. Bathrobes and slippers were nice. Rain shower, and amenities. Bathroom is small. No where to store toiletries. Had to do my makeup / hair in bed area.

Prime location in the center of Athens, metro station within short walking distance. A modern boutique hotel, with very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. They serve a hearty continental breakfast with plenty of tasty choices. A very nice and convenient touch is that free coffee, snacks and soft drinks are provided at the lobby on a 24-hour basis. Last, but not least, we must mention the outstanding Ms. Nelli from the Reception Desk. She is extremely polite, friendly, helpful and always ready to assist guests and answer their questions.
